Co-ed 6th Form at Girls school. Would you send your DS?

Has anyone here switched their DC to a co-ed 6th form in a single sex school and what was their experience like?

Long back story, but DS (who was diagnosed with Aspergers 2 years ago) has been and continues to be bullied at his v. sporty and academically successful all-boys school, ever since he joined in year 9. The school keeps assuring us that things will improve as his peer-group matures, but that appears to be bollox. He is now in Year 11, too late to leave now due to iminent GSCEs . He is very lonely, isolated and miserable, and we have already had to visit the school this term to sort out major problems in 2 of his GCSE classes. He desparately wants to do 'A' levels and go to University, but really hates his current school.

My old Girls school has an Open evening for prospective 6th-formers tonight - their 6th form is now co-ed. Fewer than 10% of the pupils seem to be boys however, their A level results are nowhere near as good as DS's current school, and they aren't offering some of the subjects DS is interested in. We are taking DS along to the open evening anyway, just for a recce. I'm just wondering what we should be looking for here?

my dd goes to an all girls catholic school which has a sixth form where for some A levels they work with the sixth form from the all boys catholic school is this not an option?

Yes ,maybe. . . .
especially if he had several others males the same age going, and if his sister was in the school...and if its a good school. . . . then why not?

I've no experience - I guess my first question would be whether your DS tends to be comfortable with girls.

TBH I'd be put off by 'they aren't offering some of the subjects DS is interested in.', unless they are offering other appropriate ones.

It depends on the DS and what they want to do and what they are comfortable with.

What does he think about it?
Also, if you're thinking of moving him per se, you should consider other options as well - are there any other schools or 6th form colleges he might be interested in?
