DD wants to know if maths and english are compulsory for IB?

Also - pros or cons of either?

TIA

Yes.

IB you take 6 subjects - 3 at higher level and 3 at standard. AFAICR my DS took English. Maths, Japanese, History, Biology and Drama. There isn't a lot of choice.

They have to do some sort of service element and an extended essay and other activities (DS got signed off by ballroom dancing). It is a more rounded curriculum than A levels but a lot of work.

I agree with everything idrillis has written. A small point though; few schools offer the further maths option, it is a hell of a lot of work.
