Hi there. Anyone with daughters applying to Headington for Sept 2012. I see they have dropped Science from the entrance exam and now it will be maths English and NVR. Wondering what to expect from the interview stage...

My understanding is that State School pupils don't do as well on the science test and so they have removed it. Last year the interview was a few general questions about hobbies, favourite subjects etc and also to look something up from a bus timetable. It was fairly low key.

Look up something from a bus timetable??? That i dont understand! Is yr dd enjoying it there? I expect everyone wondering what new head will be like :)

Something like "If I wanted to get to place x at by 11:34, at what time must I catch the bus from place y". DD starts there in a couple of weeks, so nothing to report yet apart from that we're feeling very very happpy with our choice.

I know someone who went there- in Year 10 she was AS standard in French and she said it was like that with everyone there.
Oh and Emma Watson went there!

I am new here. I am from overseas. I applied year 10 for my DD. May I ask how to prepare the written exam? I know we have to sit for the papers of English, Maths, Science and Spanish.

Also, my dd loves athletics. I have an impression that this school is academic good and all rounded. Am I right?

Sorry, cannot help on the exams questions, but will say that it is an excellent school, very sporty and girls perform very well there.
