Hello, can anyone advise on the best prep schools in the Caterham area and nearby? We are aware of Caterham School but wanted to know what other schools parents would recommend, ideally feeder prep schools for the best secondary schools as we are new to the area.
Thanks very much

Have you checked out the IAPs and ISC websites. Your best bet is to visit some adn open days are traditionally held in summer/autumn terms. Opinion on "best" will vary hugely depending on what facilities you want, co-ed/single sex, how academic/all rounded and whether you are hoping for 11+ or 13+/CE secondary entry(or to move to the senior part of same school) and to where. The better ones will already have waiting lists. How old are your dc ?

Hello LIZS, thank you for your kind response, I will check out the websites you recommend. My DS is 4 months! So we are starting from scratch, being very aware of the long waiting list issue. We I think would prefer academic but open to all round as we have no idea yet what his strengths will be, hope for 11+ but open to 13+ entry.

don't know much but a good friend of ours works at Caterham school and will be sending his two kids there from nursery onward. He says its a really nice place, not as fiercely academic as some (ie not selective) but that can be a very good thing depending on what your DCs are like.
