Living in Chessington

Hi,I am considering moving into Chessington, and don't know anyone in the area. We are looking at buying a place and moving in, and I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or pointers about where to live, or things to watch out for when looking at properties or roads. I work in London, so the plan is take a bus into the Surbiton station (which I am told is fairly frequent) and then the train from there. Is this is a naive view or is it practical? I know this is a very broad question, but I would be very thankful for any tips or pointers

Your local secondary will be Chessington Community College.

Lots of buses to Surbiton station going pass Tolworth Girls and Soughborough Boys

The 71 bus is very frequent and will take you into Surbiton. The K2 bus will also go into Surbiton but it takes a longer route (via Tolworth). I used to take the 71 bus to Surbiton then take the train.

There are 2 trains an hour into London Waterloo from Chessington North/Chessington South.

Thank you for your comments, happilyconfused and crazygracieuk.

Do you live in Chessington? Is it a nice place to live with kids, apart from the adventure park, of course :)?

I don't live in chessington but we drive through it on our way to kingston. It doesn't seem that great along the main road (a lot of lit up santas at christmasSmile) but maybe there are nicer parts you don't see when you pass through. I'd have thought surbiton itself would be better.
