Extended Project at A level

Anyone have DC undertaking an extended project at A level?

DS (lower 6th) is preparing an EP in Music Tech, which comprises and project and viva (he is taking his Mus Tech A2 a year early and has loads of time for a Mus Tech EP and wants to study music production at uni) and I was wondering how many UCAS points an EP provides.

Any ideas?

A*. 70 points
A. 60 points
B. 50 points
C. 40 points etc

I think the formula is half the UCAS points for a full A level.
Good luck to him. My son did one in the summer / autumn of 2009 and it was pretty time consuming. My advice would be to use his summer holiday well as to do it alongside other home work in term time would be very hard going.

Thanks for that info Bearcat - he's almost finished his base work for the project and will spend the summer writing it up and preparing for the viva.

I wasn't aware that so many UCAS points were awarded so it looks well worth the extra work.
