So my dc starts secondary school in September, and am struggling to decide what will work best in terms of work. I have another at primay and a preschool dc with cm.

I currently work full time, with an hour commute, sometimes leaving home at 7:30am and returning as late as 8pm some evenings, currently dc attends breakfast and after school clubs, My mum usually picks them up from after school club.

But without this provision at Secondary, I don't want dc home alone for lengthy periods.

I am considering Part time, request Flexible working or continue looking for something nearer to home.

What do other single working parents do?

bumping for you. Mine aren't at school yet, although I think I'm going to have to do some major grovelling for un-paid leave during summer holidays.

The lone parents topic might give you more answers.
