Can you tell me what the average number of teaching hours is per AS please?

ds1's school is dropping one AS each week by 30 mins on a rotating basis and I'm livid but need amo if I am to persuade them to change their ways.

At the moment he gets 4 hrs 10mins for one AS, 4hrs 15 for another, 4 hrs 20 for another and 4hrs 25mins for the remaining one. Is this the norm?

Quite why they are of varying lengths is beyond me

We have 9 hours a fortnight.

I have 9 50 minute lessons every two weeks. I have four clashes though. I also have loads of awful ICT/Mentoring/Numeracy lessons for the Welsh Baccalaureate. >=(

8-9 hours a fortnight seems to be the norm, comparing my friends in other schools. I don't think you have anything to worry about. :)

We used to have 5 hours a week, but funding has dropped and now we only have funding for 4 1/2 hours a week. I've been told that this is commonplace in FE.

5 hours a week but because of ebacc delivery pressures there are discussions about cutting down 50 mins per subject per week.

9 a fortnight for each subject at DD's school.

I think 4 hours a week per subject is pretty usual, anything above that is a bonus. It is certainly what I had 20 years ago doing Alevels and what I have had in most schools I have taught in.
