reading through some of the threads on here I just wanted to let you know that the Connexions Service is there for students of year 9 upwards to age 19. They are completely independent of the school so can therefore offer impartial advice on what's best for your child in relation to what subjects they might NEED in relation to future career choices and if your DC's don't yet have an idea in mind then they can advise what careers could be suitable given the subjects that your DC have chosen.
They can also advocate on your DC behalf if there is any disagreement regarding subjects etc.
Please remember to use them if you are feeling confused. Usually they will be around on your parents evening / options evening but hidden away somewhere.
it is your choice not the schools.
