Husband may be changing jobs and moving to Lincolnshire. Anyone know about secondary schools near Bourne.

Don't know too much as live near but different county.

Has a very good reputation but a small catchment area so you would need to look at whether you would fall in the specific area.I know people who have lived in nearby villages but had to move house to gain catchment.

There is also Spalding grammar in Lincs.

.Have a look on the 11+ forum.

Linconshire is definitely a grammar schools county, and it's competitive 11+. I believe Bourne is very good, but have no recent direct info.

I thought wherever you were in the county, you were in the catchment of one of the grammar school, if indeed they have them in the usual sense (for villages, it may simply be provision of buses) But, the county's schools are massively oversubscribed and if lots of children pass the 11+, then distance to school is the tie-breaker. Hence (perceived) need to be close to the school, as there are children who pass 11+ who cannot get a grammar school place.

Are you moving at a natural school change time, or will you be looking at an ad hoc place?
