Does anyone have experience of the above school? My daughter is sitting entrance exams for the above and also RGS. I was a huge fan of LND but am hearing not great reports about it. My daughter really wants to go there but am wondering whether RGS is better option. If she gets in to either/both, of course. Thanks in advance.

We liked it when we looked round. Friends moved their dc there last year (from state schools)and have been happy with it. There will be a new head (male) next summer who another friend has met and was very impressed with. Her dd is due to sit the exam in January. We've considered it for ds but felt the curriculum was a little traditional but facilities for art etc seemd really good for the size of school. Haven't RGS already allocated places ?

Thanks for reply. All entrance exams are in January and interviews for RGS a bit later if children get through the exam. The new head at Lingfield was deputy at Ardingly but don't know much else about him. Just talking to people recently has slightly put me off - I had really high hopes of the school but now feel underwhelmed. I do know someone who has three girls there and she loves it as do her daughters but would love more feed back from anyone - good and bad?

ah you must be talking about 11+ then. Does your dd have to move at 11?

No, she doesn't have to but really wants to as she loves the school. However, this is just based on one visit and a meeting with the old head. I was very enthusiastic until recently but am now getting put off. Thanks.

I looked at it a few years ago with a view to DS1 and DD1 going there. Didn't go in the end as we moved abroad for a few years but would certainly have considered DC going there if it hadn't been for that. A few of their friends went there and were/are very happy and have done very well at GCSE

The only slight reservation I had was that I thought that the (old) head was as mad as a box of frogs but clearly she has left/is leaving. Grin

Thanks very much. The former head did seem slightly unhinged but seemed very popular with children and parents. Anyone else? Thanks in advance.
