I have been researching schools in this aarea and would be happy to hear from parents
who have children in the state system and what they think about the schools in this area.

My friends DC go / have gone to Teddington which they rave about. Their DD did v v well at GCSE last year. Theyhave gone through a rebuild and have state of the art facilities.

Other friends DC go to Orleans Park. Again they love it. From what I understand these are considered the two best, although I think Greycourt is on the up.

Lots of children near me also at Teddington and I've heard very good things from the parents - children love it, strong on discipline, amazing new facilities and results going up, year on year. I think lots from outside the boro' used to go there, but now it seems a shrinking catchment with people moving even across Teddington to get in.

The only other school I know children at is Waldegrave Girls - also very good, loads of extra curricula activities and excellent results

Waldegrave girls one of the top girls schools in the country. Catchment area getting smaller by the year. No feeder school.

Everybody raves about Teddington but that means that house prices near the feeder primary schools are going through the roof.

Orleans on the up but has had a very poor reputation in the past.

Orleans has recently been upgraded by Ofsted to 'Outstanding'. There are also some very positive comments on Mumsnet about the recent changes at Twickenham Academy.

All Richmond Borough parents need to be aware that the council is looking to make some significant changes to Secondary Schools over the coming years, which could impact existing schools, so check out the thread: "New Secondaries for Richmond Borough" and join the debate. The council will listen to parents' views, but we can only engage in the process if we know what's going on.

Both DS's went to Hampton Community College, now Hampton Academy.
Both did very well there.
DS1 got 4A*, 7 A, 2 C grades at GCSE, went on to get 3 A's at A level and a First MEng from University of Nottingham.
DS2 got 7A and 5 A grades at GCSE, an A and 3A's at A level and is now doing economics at University of Nottingham.
Just wanted to put my two penneth worth to support this school that has not always had the best press, but one of my neighbours tells me it is now oversubscribed.
My DS's friends from this school are some of the nicest young people I know.
