Just seen this on the BBC news.

Apparently the HSE has prosecuted a head Teacher for a breach of Health and Safety in which a pupil fell through a Sky light at a school.

Liverpool Crown Court by the looks of it.

Was that the one where they had been drinking alcohol at a post-A-Level celebration and he then took them up on the roof to look at something?

A daft thing to do (taking them onto the roof) and probably the right decision. Although at what point does taking responsibilty for another human being's actions stop? The 'boy' was 18, went onto the roof of his own accord and was told to avoid the skylight.

That's the one. He took some students up on the roof to see some renovation work. He warned them to avoid the skylight but one of the boys stepped on it and fell through. The boy only fell 8 feet but got quite seriously injured. The head teacher has now been fined £20k with £23k costs.
