DS#1 has received an invitation to one next week. There is an aero-engineering company attending. That is what DS wants to do.

Anyone got any experience of such things? Do they actually achieve anything? DS is a bit iffy but should I encourage him to go?

No experience of them but if he wants to do it then all the information he can get, the better. If they have work experience in year 10 or 11 then try and get a shoe-in now - it's difficult finding places when everyone is looking for them.

As far as I can see there can be no harm done, so yes, he shoudl go.

We've just been and I think dd found it helpful. It was a mix between careers proper (the police were there for instance), and the local colleges showing what they had to offer, and the university were there too. The handouts were helpful in that they gave a good idea of the kind of GCSEs you would need to do in preparation for different types of careers/higher education.

Thankyou.

I've showed DS the link and he is quite keen now.
