DS (7) needs 4 line song to sing for choir audition...what?!

DS1 with a bit of persuasion has decided (to my private joy!) to audition for the boys choir at his Comp (before anyone thinks I'm talking cathedral school, here!)-

What do you recommend? I am thinking a reasonably commonly known bit of music- can be popular, but one that is reasonably easy to learn but without really high or low bits YET can demonstrate his ability to hold a tune!

Any ideas anyone? He will only need to sing 'about 4 lines', he says.

TIA

How about something from Joseph or one of the big shows. Doesn't have to be the whole song, just one verse or the chorus.

Something he likes and an sing. Boys choirs are fab!

Happy Birthday ?

Amazing Grace - easy to remeber and shows a good vocal range.
DS has used it every time.

Just get him to sing something contemporary that he likes. Recent Take That for example (ok so he may not actually like take that! - Tonight this could be the greatest night of our lives....,(sorry couldn't tell you what its called). This was one of the songs used at last years Young Voices concert which is done every year with primary school kids ds2 who was year 5 loved it and even the less enthusiastic boys could manage it.
He incidentally is desperate to get to year 7 so he can join the choir at secondary school and is over the moon about going to Young Voices again.

Couldn't remember exactly how the Take That song went to brought the Official Version with video up on YouTube. And I have to agree with the first comment poster there- those 'boys' are now *gorjas'! Hot, hot, hot! Maybe I should insist DS sings that so I can wander off on a private fantasy...Grin

So now you have persuaded him to audition persauding him to sing TT should be a doddle. Good Luck and to your ds too let us know how he gets on.

O I've just thought of more Wake me up when September (or maybe december) ends by Green Day if he's more into rock than pop or More than Words by Extreme and you can close your eyes and think of the one with dark hair Nino I think he was called Grin
