GCSE classes

Are they normally smaller?
Most of DS's year 10 classes seem a lot smaller, ie the top 3 maths sets have been split into 4 so now about 20 to a class, same with english.
I can understand it in subjects that have less take up ie his German class only has about 14 I think.

I am not complaining by the wayGrin just wondered if it was the norm.

Yes, normal if it is possible with timetabling constraints.

Thanks, I was just expecting the classes like maths and english to go on as normal.

Obviously, GCSE groups are the priority, so smaller classes = better results.
