Now that the freedom of information act is in place for all schools and academies please use it to find out more about your potential school. This now gives us the opportunity to find out whether schools and academies are really good across the board and they are not using a blanket policy of "vocational" courses, that have little value to your child, but boost the schools league table position. Maybe you could find out what goin on in you area and the post the results?

This information is usually available in the school prospectus. DC's school has a full list of all the exams taken at gsces and A lever. List of pass rates at every level for each subject and even pass rates split between male and female for every subject at every level.
