A backpack - cheapish from Tescos, as when we get an expensive one they rip within a term. DD will start with one, but from watching the girls at her school they seem to end up with a collection of posh carrier bags.

A rucksack ( his had to be a reebok one but that was personal preference rather than school rules!) He also has a sports bag to keep all his PE gear in. Everything has to be kept in a smallish locker, so compact!

Ds has a messenger type bag from Fatface sale.
DD started off with Animal rucksack, but now has a Cath Kidston bag, which she bought herself.

Surfdome have a brilliant selection of backpacks and bags

DD and DS have had Animal and Roxy backpacks and they are both worth the money, very hardwearing. Although this year they are asking for satchel style bags.

Oh good tip about the locker size, that would have totally passed me by!

Thanks, the Animal ones look good and DD finds them nice too.

I love the Cath kidston ones but school policy is "as plain as possibl2" [desapointed emoticon]

DD has a backpack and supposedly that is so uncool and do i know nothing. For girls our way its oversize handbags, and I think what are called 'shopper' bags. Cath Kidston is what I'm being nagged about!
