Does anyone have or know where I can get a nearly new uniform for Grey Court School. My son is due to start Grey Court on 6 September but currently 7th on waiting list for Christ's which means he'll only need the Grey Court uniform for a matter of weeks !

Maybe try MN local for the appropriate area..

deaddei · 01/08/2010 12:53

Isn't it quite cheap to buy anyway?

sheenite · 01/08/2010 13:52

Tried MN Local and they have nothing for Grey Court. Funnily enough deaddei Grey Court seems to be th emost expensive uniform to buy. Just to buy the basics is bout £100

Who stocks the uniform- is it the one at Tolworth ?

sheenite · 03/08/2010 10:11

No, you have to buy it online

Oh how ridiculous.
Do you pay for p and p too?

pekkalaserafina · 04/08/2010 18:27

You dont need to wear the jumper so dont buy that, any white shirt, black trousers will be fine .. they'll also do for Christ's too I think? The HT is very strict on the blazer but just buy a vvvv cheap black one and sew the badge on unless they've already gone over to only buying the pre badged ones from the online shop? < Should really check as DD needs a new one> Other than that its a tie and I'd not buy the PE kit if you're certain of a place at Christ's your DS will just have to borrow from the lost property box!

sheenite · 05/08/2010 11:56

I already have black trousers and white shirts but you have to buy blazer, tie, PE Kit (including socks) which are all compulsory and that's nearly £100. It seems a waste being as he'll probably only wear them for a week or two until a place comes up at Christ's.

Well if I manage to get myself vaguely organised before the start of term you are welcome to DDs tatty blazer that she's grown out of, it is knackered though. I would tell a white lie and say you've ordered the PE kit but it hasnt arrived, out of stock of DS's size or somesuch.... or tell the truth that you are confidant about a place at Christs.

Will the waiting list move in September by that many places? I know a lot of schools locally have had little movement at this stage compared to previous years....

Ah that's very kind of you pekkalaserafina. I did call the school before they closed and they said they had some nearly new uniform that he could have, but they never called back. I am thinking of just sending him in on the first day of term in black trousers and shirt and going to the office and explaining the situation. He has actually moved 4 places in a week and currently no. 7 for Christ's. I know for a fact that all schools have no shows on the first day of term and being as Christ's starts on 2 and Grey Court 6 Sept, i'm hoping a place will come up at the last minute. It just seems a waste to buy a uniform that he'll only wear for a week or so !!!!

sheenite, I misread your post and thought he was going to Christs Hospital Blush
Hope you get into Christs.
