Forms for year 10 - any thoughts?

My dd is in a school where they mix the forms up for year 10. There are 6 forms. The school is generally good at pastoral care, so should I assume that there is a good reason that dd's friendship group of 6 has been split so that there are 3 in one form, 2 in another and dd on her own in a 3rd?. Or should I assume that it was some sort of random allocation and it would be worth her going to talk to someone about it? She is very upset but philosophical, but she is definitely the least confident of the 6, and the one who will find it hardest to be "stranded on a desert island" as she put it.

In the school where I work forms are sorted out randomly but it might be worth a chat with the head of year though just to find our. FWIW our school would not move students based on friendship groups though.
The other thing is that by year 10 they usually spend v little time with their tutor group as they are all doing different options and the like - in our school its 15 min in the morning and 5 in the afternoon and that's it.

Sorry got to rush, dd woken up
