Anybody else's year 7 child exhausted?

Dd1 has been complaining of fatigue and mild tummy ache all week. The tummy ache was worse tonight and she was upset about it so we went to the out of hours GP (I was thinking possible appendix) The diagnosis is most likely tiredness complicated by dehydration/constipation and the treatment - tomorrow off school doing absolutely nothing.Dd1 has perked up enormously at this reassurance. i feel a bit crap though - like I should have prevented this Anybody else's big baby wiped out and ready for holidays?

My year 8 and year 12 are completely exhausted and very bad tempered. This term has been too long and its too hot to sleep at night - roll on friday.

Nope, yr 7 is fine but yr 1 is completely exhausted, I kept him off today he was so tired, end of term disco tomorrow night and end of term Fri - can't wait tbh

I am struggling to yet my year 9 to school until the end of the summer term, for the first time since he started. Yes he was sent home after prize giving in year 7, and missed the end of year 8 too. It does drag on.

Just to say - I'm a secondary teacher and there are very few kids at all who aren't at the very least a bit grouchy. Most are hideous due to exhaustion! Right up to Y12.

bubllerock i have the same problem my yr7n is fine but my yr1 is absolutley knackered, she is cryin and whingy and you can't reason with her at the mo

My year 8 DS4 (also turns 13 on Saturday) is totally and utterly 'done in' as he describes it.

He is in the top set on all subjects which is fantastic but they have had hours of exams these last few weeks. He is in bed by 9.30 but every morning I, quite literally, have to peel him out of his pit

Yes my year 7 son is exhausted and so relieved to finish school after not enjoying his first year in secondary at all. He is fine friend wise but has found the whole regime very stressful. I blame it on the school's unwritten policy of being as hard as possible on the year 7s in hope it creates good behaviour further up the school. I am more of the opinion that this has demoralised what was a previously motivated and happy child!

Yes - exhausted ds here! He finished today and it feels like he 's just run a marathon. Huge sense of relief at having the first year of high school under his belt.

My dd1 is in Y2 and has one day left and she is worn out too!

Both my year 9 and year 7 are exhausted. We had lower school prize giving last thursday, both dcs wer involved in school production which has involved sunday practices as well.It was on Monday, tuesday and wednesday this week and haven't got home from school until 10 - 10.30 those nights and tonight we have had middle school prizegiving,
Proud mummy moment DD year 7 got house colours for her work for her house and DS got the maths prize for year 9.

seems to be have supra long half term, though i know in all honesty it hasn't actually been so.

Having Thursday off school did dd the world of good and she went back for the 1/2 day yesterday. Her tummy seems much better

I am a head of KS3 and can say that I have seen a lot of tired "ill" students over the last week, especially the ones under my care and quite a few staff.

Our half term has been seven weeks but a packed seven weeks.
