There's an interesting review of Joanna Cherry's memoir here. Has anyone read the book yet? What Joanna Cherry's memoir says about the SNP and Scottish culture

I’m taking it away with me at the weekend. It looks well written. Surprised there aren’t photos in it though

Not yet read it but will do asap.
Apparently John Swinney says he won't be reading it, not really surprised, his head is well and truly buried in the sand....

I read it and really enjoyed it. Lots of detail and shocking accounts of how toxic the SNP are and all their dirty tricks under Sturgeon and Murrell. JC did well to get through all the bullying. She seems determined and quite formidable. I met her once and she was lovely and so down to earth.

How depressing that Scotland has been under their control for 20 years and no sign of that ending any time soon.

Just heard someone on the tv- nhs in a bad way, education getting worse, finances bad, ferries a disaster, police looking into past suspicious finances and yet they still get voted for - what do they have to do to get voted out?

We need a change of government in Scotland but there's no one else viable. The results today verify that. Labour have behaved badly in Scotland, both the Westminster lot and the local lot. The lack of support for industry from labour is obvious. Labour have faded away over the years. Conservatives have never been a strong force here. Lib dems likewise. Scots see Reform for what they are. They have shown such contempt for Scotland. So what's left?

Actually Reform have done well - in 3rd place just behind Labour.

16-17% of the popular vote, most of that clearly disaffected Tories, not a single constituency win, and 17 seats on the Regional List. If that's "doing well" then the bar for poor performance must be under the floor.
