Edinburgh supported living for older people costs

I have an elderly aunt who lives in Edinburgh and is getting to the point of needing some kind of supported living arrangement.

Does anyone have tips for what type of accommodation is available in the city and can advise on costs of purchase and ongoing costs?

She is still very sociable but getting more frail and ideally wants somewhere:
A) central or in a neighbourhood where she can easily walk to cafes and shops

B) she can be independent but has some level of on- site support and
C) doesn't need to worry about ad-hoc house maintenance costs/admin.

She has a property she will sell that will get her around 3-400k she thinks. Would this be enough? I don't know what her income/savings are but want to help her be realistic about what kind of budget she would need monthly/annually.

Grateful for any advice and information members have. Thank you

Where does she live in Edinburgh?

There is a place in Barnton called Lyle court which covers everything from independent living to nursing home care. Am sure there’s similar throughout the city.

I don’t know about Edinburgh.

I know an elderly friend of a friend chose to move from Edinburgh to a fantastic facility in St Andrews - sheltered housing (own flat) with warden but good communal facilities too when she felt she needed a bit of support. I don’t know if it was that she couldn’t find what she needed in Edinburgh or if it was that the St Andrews option was so appealing. She is having a fantastic time by all accounts with seaside walks, learning to paint, wine bar evenings etc. This lady sold a large stone Edinburgh family house so I expect that funded this fine.
