I was there in the 1960/70 but probably a bit too early for your requirements...!

I have to say though, not being the pedantic police but New Stevenston has a 'T' in it - that bit was drummed into us at St Pat's!

Hmm, that might be pedantry police. Serves me right.

What do you want to know ?

Redheadx · 19/03/2026 14:25

@dancerdog good to know! Haha that maybe explains why my searches for the area show minimal because I’m not spelling it correctly lol! Thanks for pointing this out.

@slipperypenguin I’m finding it hard to get any information on it, like is it a good wee school? Any concerns or any good things you can share. Just an overview. We are moving from an area with an amazing school reputation but because I’m not from here I don’t know what the locals think.

The good catholic primary in the area is Cathedral Primary in Motherwell. I've heard good things about Cathedral. I haven't heard much about New Stevenston. I know that Our Lady & St Francis Primary is dire. A friend moved house to get into a better catchment than OL&SF and when their child joined their new school the child was very behind the other kids despite being a bright kid. The kid has caught up and is doing well.

There's also Christ the King in Holytown, and Holy Family in Mossend - depends on where in NS you are, one of these may be in catchment area?. However, I have no knowledge of how good they are now. Sorry to hear that OL&SF isn't doing well though.
St Pat's is a shared campus with the public school. Don't know how that works in practice.

Both my children went there, one has left and the other is about to leave in June, feel free to PM me and I’ll answer any questions I can.
