Christmas markets outside Edinburgh or Glasgow?

DS wants to go to a Xmas market, mainly for the food! But I'm not sure if I can face how rammed Edinburgh is going to be, and assume Glasgow will be the same. He's not great with crowds and I fear it will end up being stressful rather than fun.

Are there any alternative smaller markets in central Scotland that have food stalls and good xmassy atmosphere? He's 11 so we don't need Santa experiences or anything like that this year.

Kirkintilloch has a Christmas market on the 22nd and 23rd this year. It will still be busy unfortunately but not as busy as Glasgow.

Milngavie has a Christmas day on the 22nd also though there doesn’t seem to be as much of a market but lots of other events.

Also Dunblane has a Christmas Extravaganza in the evening on the 27th of this month from 5pm
to 8pm.
