Withdrawing from Edinburgh Academy

We recently moved to Scotland from abroad and had a very small window to find schools for our children. I have one at the senior school at Edinburgh Academy; however, they would like to attend a larger school with more class and sport options. I understand that we need to give written notice at least one full term before before we intend to withdraw but are they flexible with this? My child would like to move sooner rather than later but I don't want to pay double term fees. Thank you for any advice.

I don’t have experience of EA, but I think all fee paying schools have similar expectations around notice periods of fees and they are quite stringent, especially if it is not for an unfortunate reason. As Autumn Term is long they may accept notice now for terminating the contract in January rather than April.

I’d speak to them asap.

Thanks, I emailed the rector our issues/concerns several weeks ago and didn’t even hear back from him. We started looking at other schools and again emailed him over a week ago and he said it was unfortunate that EA wasn’t able to meet our needs and received no further information or instructions. I’m pretty disappointed with the experience.
