Anyone rushing to buy it? To read such startling revelations that she is attracted to women as well as men? (Must be tricky seeing as she can't define what a woman is).

Uhm yeah and thank god Scotland isn't fully independent and Supreme Court judgment interpreting the EA is binding. Hope this helps.

I don't know what the EA is but I think the UK will be saying their farewell to us in the next few years and what a country we will make

I find it fascinating that probably the most successful woman in Britain this century is treated with such derision on this website.

You're joking right?!!! 😂

I will never forget her standing up in Holyrood and defending the suggestion of cutting the bottom off all of the doors in Scottish schools. 🙈🙈🙈

EA is Equality Act 2010. That you didn't know it or guess it from context tells me all I need to know.

I have a 120 IQ just because I don't care about politics or instutional bodies doesn't make me an idiot

Rather, my lack of education doesn't make me an idiot

I must be an idiot for voting to bring children out of poverty, a hundred pounds a month to tackle childhood malnutrition

But how can you guarantee it goes to the children’s food and not the mothers nail / Netflix / booze?

I assume you don't live in Scotland.

A failing education system and the ferry fiasco are just two aspects of life in Scotland which SNP first ministers including Nicola Sturgeon have presided over.

Your assumption is incorrect.

The ferry problem is caused by lack of investment over the past 20 years or so. Do you honestly think a Conservative or Labour administration would have invested more money had they been in power?

For sure the SNP have had failures over the past 15 or so years they have been in government. But so does any government that has been in power for any length of time. They are far from perfect but no government is.

The SNP has been in government for 18 out of the past 20 years.
The ferry problem is caused by Nicola and her government giving the contract to a Scottish shipyard trying to look like they support local industries despite there being well founded (and proved right) doubts that they could deliver the ferries on time and on budget.
There is some twerp on our local FB page who every time when there are complaints about the trains (and there are many) blames Westminster, despite that Scotrail has been taken over by the Scottish government a few years ago from Abellio. Nothing can ever be blamed on the Scottish government, it's so tedious.

As I posted on another forum, don't lose sight of the fact Ms Sturgeon is still a serving MSP and will be until May, when she has said she is stepping down.

She is being paid £74,500 a year to represent the people of Glasgow southside. Representing those people does not include giving self-promoting interviews to the media, slagging off Alex Salmond, writing books, fannying around at the Festival and selling tickets for "a night with Sturgeon" events.

That's a very pessimistic outlook based on an extreme stereotype

Ophir · 11/08/2025 15:50

I’m hoping all the posters who were outraged about the very suggestion that NS was a lesbian living a lie are now going to apologise 😃

AngelofIslington · 11/08/2025 16:48

I’d be furious if she was my MSP. We have a SNP msp but they are totally visible in the community, showing up at carol concerts, gala days and schools and holding surgeries regularly.
I may not agree with their politics but can’t fault their desire to improve our community.
I don’t think any of NS’s constituents would be able to say the same, too busy swanning around with Val McDermid

Nachoinseachthu · 11/08/2025 20:14

I wonder if she deliberately chose the weekend of the Sturgeon full moon to launch her book. Isn’t her sister into astrology and stuff?

KassandraOfSparta · 12/08/2025 08:39

And in another "fuck you" to the voters of Glasgow Southside, Ms Sturgeon's self-promotion today involved fannying about on the BBC Breakfast red sofa while being described as a "former politician".

To be fair, she described herself as a politician, present tense, on Radio 4 this morning.

She very much wants to discuss things on her terms which seems fair in your own book, less so in an interview.

Fragmentedbrain · 12/08/2025 11:20

She might move to London because she's finding Scotland too suffocating.

Love it. Queen of the small minds finds small minds off-putting.

The book is really embarrassingly badly written for a supposedly educated woman.

I imagine it covers other subjects, too.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 13/08/2025 09:23

I'm absolutely gobsmacked at this part of the book. The Nats must be furious that she's essentially rubbished their economic case for independence. 🤭

Until this very week Nicola Sturgeons’s sexuality was never a thought that crossed my mind. They were simpler times.

The lengths to which people will stoop to flog a book never cease to amaze me.

Dingledongledell · 13/08/2025 11:01

I love the published sections of the book that state that after she took all Scottish westminster seats bar a handful she was clapped throughout Edinburgh airport. Hilarious! Totally hilarious! And then she woke up and it was all a dream, she forgot to add.
