Edinburgh airport question

I think that you don’t need to take liquids out of bags anymore?
But my question is….can these therefore be in different places in your travel bag eg one in your soap bag, one in your bag itself, one in a side compartment etc etc rather than all in the one bag inside your hand luggage bag?
Thanks.

They can be anywhere in your bag.

They can be anywhere and the 100ml restriction has also been removed at Edinburgh airport.

Just remember to have a plan for the return trip as most airports still have the restrictions. But yes - that would be fine.

Thank you!

Watch out for mitchum deodorant apparently this gets flagged up all the time by the scanners!

dementedpixie · 03/08/2025 16:57

You will likely need a clear plastic bag for the return journey if your destination doesn't have the new scanners.

Yes!! Husband and I both had our hand luggage pulled aside for extra checks at Edinburgh airport and the staff said it was our Mitchum roll on deodorants that caused the problem.

Don't use refillable silicon bottles either , these will also get your hand luggage pulled aside. The xray machines cant "see through" silicon apparently.

Yes, Mitchum roll on was an issue for me too! I was told the smaller roll on is fine but regular size gets flagged every time.
