We're due to drive from Angus area to about an hr north of Ullapool on monday doubt we'll get any money back now but but should we cancel? It's supposed to be 4 nights so probably not worth the drive now as winds look bad well into Tuesday so don't think going later an option.

We have insurance holiday insurance for the yr, is it worth calling Aviva to see if there would be any way in getting anything back?

As it stands it’s a yellow weather warning, so there’s not been a do not travel alert issued, as there was with a red warning.
Yellow is the lowest of the Met Office’s warning levels, and means prepare for disruption, so potentially it could still be OK - but be prepared perhaps for your journey to take longer.
I’ve certainly driven in yellow weather warnings before - though not such a distance - and it’s been fine - although might be different if your in a high sided vehicle?

Yellow warning is heavy rain and wind usually id go unless there is a no travel advisory, then you might get a refund.

Amber now.

Showing as amber from 10am on Monday. Can you go really early so you’ve at least travelled there by then ?

Amber now.

I have just seen this, its up to you op can you just judge it in the morning and maybe go Tuesday instead.

The Kessock Bridge is likely to be closed due to the amber warning 12-3pm on Monday but this may of course change. So if you are going, set off very early so you are well up the A9 by 10am.
