If you applied for a primary school outside your catchment, did you get a place?

Just that, really! Were you successful in getting a place outside of your automatic placement school?

If so, what council area were you in? I’m thinking towards next year, trying to suss out what my chances might be!

Cheers.

I have done it 3 times in the Scottish Borders and got the places. I think if you are in city areas then it is possible you won't. I know many children here who go to non catchment schools. Even non catchment high schools.

In NE, got places for both DDs (although that goes back to 2012-2015) in a popular school. However, the year before DD2 went to school there were no out of catchment placings so a bit of luck was involved.

East Dunbartonshire publish the percentage and number of successful applicants for each primary. What council are you in?
