Glasgow buses and things to do next week

I'm staying in Glasgow from tomorrow for a week, staying near the St Enoch's subway station. I need to use the buses on Monday and Tuesday (and Sun evening) and the subway Wednesday to Sunday. I have to drop DD off and collect her a few hours later, so 4 journeys a day for me. I can walk short distances, but due to a hip injury can't walk for too long. Weather forecast is not great either for walking.

Trying to find out what options there are for daily/weekly/3-in-7 bus tickets in Glasgow. Can anyone please explain simply what the options are? So far, I can see that there are Tripper cards, Zone cards, City/Local bus passes and Network bus passes, as well as weekly passes for the subway, but can't find all the prices, areas covered, whether they're for all operators or just Firstbus, and information about whether I also need a photocard or smartcard.

Traveline Scotland Journey Planner has been a headache, but seem to have figured that out now. It's not programmed to give bus routes from a subway station so comes up with none, and telling it I want to go from St Enoch's Square gives some options and from the hotel gives others.

I have a lot of hanging around, whilst DD is in rehearsals. Monday and Tuesday she's at the Scottish Opera building near the King's Theatre and the rest of the week she's near St George's Cross subway. Anywhere interesting to kill 3-4 hours near these?

We have a lot of time outside of DD's activities too, so also wondering more generally what's on in Glasgow next week and/or good options for a 15-year-old. Any tips on cheap cinema nights etc?

Hello,
Bus info on this link, scroll to the right to see ticket prices
First Bus
Scroll down for Subway info. You won't have time to receive a smartcard by post but it does state you can get an anonymous one at the subway station for £3
Subway

St Enoch subway would be a good place to check which ticket best suits your needs and the staff will be able to help.

For the cinema, the tallest cinema in the world is at the top of Renfrew Street (Cineworld) or the GFT (Glasgow Film Theatre) is an old picture house that shows new releases and classics. The classics tend to be very good and the cinema is beautiful.
GFT

For museums, parks, days out etc see Glasgow Life site. Highly recommend the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. You can also buy a sightseeing tour bus pass and visit many in the same day.
Glasgow Life the majority of these have no admission charge but welcome donations.

Glasgow Science Centre is also good if that is of interest.

The Tenement House in Garnethill, Glasgow allows you to step back in time to a young woman's home. It's a National Trust site. Only 4 rooms to see but brimming with history.

Mackintosh at Willow Tearooms

There is also a traditional Steamboat called The Waverley on the River Clyde day trips or a smaller boat ride available called the Clyde Ride with Seaforce Powerboats.

For daytime activities for yourself, you could also book into a day spa or treatments in the city centre for a half day or full day with lunch. Spa at the Blythswood Hotel or Spa in the City are both luxurious.

Lots of lovely restaurants and takeaway options. There is an app called Too Good to Go and you can buy discounted food near the end of breakfast service in some hotels, dinner service in restaurants and cafés and food in shops. It is a lucky dip for whatever is unsold that day.

Enjoy your visit.

Thank you @MagnoliaTreeBlossom . Lots of ideas to explore there.

We go to Glasgow 2-3 times a year, but because we stay in the back of beyond, Glasgow trips tend to focus on the things we can't do here, so shopping, bowling, cinema and chain restaurants that DD misses. It will be good to have some time to properly see the city beyond that.

I did look at the First Bus and SPT websites earlier in the week, but you have to register with a photo to see the Zone card prices and I couldn't find an explanation of where you can go with a Network pass that you can't with a City/Local pass, if anyone knows that?

Hi,
Happy to help. All the ticket prices are on the links above for standard fares with no photo card requirements.

Here is the link for the zone maps.
Network permits travel across the entire Glasgow network - it would be unlikely that you are visiting locations in the suburbs but if you were you'd need a network ticket.

City/Local would probably be most suitable But you can download the map and check your destinations. before you buy.

Silverburn Shopping Centre has bowling and a cinema as well as plenty of shops and restaurants.

The Glasgow Fort is an outdoor Shopping centre and is well worth a visit for the range of shops and restaurants, and there is a Vue cinema there.

East Kilbride Shopping centre has ice skating as does Braehead Shopping Centre.

ATG tickets for Kings Theatre and Theatre Royal shows

Thanks for all your help. I got a Tripper 3-in-7 ticket for the bus and weekly passes for the subway in the end.

Not had chance to do much else yet. So far just spent her first rehearsal checking in to the apartment and second shopping for shoes she needs to wear in the production. Today may finish anytime between 13:00 and 18:00, so difficult to do much. Rehearsals officially get longer from tomorrow so shall look at options later.
