Where to go for lunch near Barony Hall, Glasgow?

DS graduates on Tuesday afternoon from Strathclyde Uni. Can anyone here recommend somewhere nearby which would be lovely for lunch?

We went to Nippon Kitchen on West george Street after dd's graduation on Wednesday. Depends what food they (and you) like. We stopped at wetherspoons on george square for a drink first.

Have you got your running order sorted out? The ticket and gown collection were next to each other in the learning and teaching building and opened before 9.15am. Then we walked to the Barony Hall where they have to register from 10am. We ended up with front row seats which was great.

Had a quick WhatsApp chat with DS just now and have booked Cafe Gandolfi for 12.15pm. DS says he needs to be at the Hall for 2.30pm with ceremony starting at 3pm.

Registration opens at the barony at 2pm and closes at 2.30pm. He'll need his tickets and gown before that

How long did it take for the collection of tickets, gowns, photos?

We were there quite sharp when it opened and the desk to collect tickets was just across from the gown collection. Photos were in another room but dd didn't want any so we skipped that.

They put the gown and hood on when collecting but the hood comes back off when they are in the Barony and gets folded over their arm. It's put back on as part of the ceremony.
