Off to Edinburgh for the weekend as my birthday treat from my partner, because I wanted to go to Dishoom for breakfast so we decided to just get a hotel and make a weekend of it.
We’ve already got dinner and breakfast booked so don’t really need food recommendations but just some ideas to fill Saturday and Sunday afternoon and maybe some nice coffee shop ideas?

We’ve thought about doing the real Mary kings close walking tour but not really had any other chats yet so I’m hoping to get some ideas for nice couple things or stuff to see that isn’t really touristy.

Stroll down to Stockbridge, for excellent charity shops and coffee shops, then down the water of leith path to the shore.
both modern art galleries are further up the water of leith (inland from Stockbridge) and are lovely to wander round.

The canal festival is on at Fountainbridge on Saturday.
It's also Edinburgh pride this weekend.
Leith Festival is on until Sunday
Combining the ideas from @EBoo80 you could get the bus out to Roseburn then walk along the Water of Leith path to Stockbridge. Head up the steps to the galleries of modern art along the way. Then coffee / lunch in Stockbridge and a wander round the botanic gardens. There's a neighgood market on in Stockbridge with food and drinks and sometimes live music at weekends.
Watch the sunset from Calton Hill.
Portobello beach - there's a wee sauna on the prom then you run and jump in the sea if that's your thing.
There's also soul water sauna at Pitt Street food market in Granton (not as easy to get to or as in as nice an area as Portobello though).
Walk out to Cramond Island (tide times permitting)
Lauriston castle grounds are nice for a walk then you could head down to Cramond.
Craigmiller castle
Walk along the Hermitage of Braid and up Blackford hill (great views)
Pitch & putt at Bruntsfield links
Saughton Park has beautiful gardens (tram to Balgreen)

It's the Royal Highland Show near Edinburgh airport this weekend too.

Check out the pride parade route to either join or avoid as it will be a bit busy round there.

meant to be gorgeous so I’d focus outside. What sorts of things do you like to do? Have you been before?
