Moving to Glenrothes

Hi!

Myself, DH and baby boy are moving to Glenrothes in a few days. We're moving from Wales so it's a big move!
I was wondering if anyone has any advice on the move or the area we're moving to?
We've so far heard nothing but good things about Glenrothes, however I've seen a thread where quite a few people are saying they wouldn't live there and it's peaked my curiosity as to why? Is there problems there etc?

I'm very excited for the move and meeting new people, so anyone into bad (but also fantastic) reality shows like Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and going on coffee dates....hmu!!😆

Thanks in advance!💛

Perfectly decent place to live! Like all places there are good and not so good bits! What area are you moving to? The park is beautiful and it's so well placed for travelling north or south with the beautiful east Neuk so close!

We're moving close to Balbirnie Park, it does look like such a beautiful area! Plenty lovely places to take LO for a walk in the pram.

Thank you for your reply! You're right, every place has good and not so good but had to get more opinions for my own peace of mind😂
Xx

It wouldn’t be my first choice of places to live in fife, but it wouldn’t be the bottom of the list either. There are nice bits and not so nice bits. The people are really friendly, and lots of stuff to do.

Balbirnie is beautiful you're definitely going to live in one of the nicest places! I grew up in Glenrothes and it was great, plenty to do! It's lovely and green, beautifully kept with lovely floral displays in summer! I'm well travelled around Scotland and have lived and worked elsewhere but we moved back to Fife to have our family as I truly believe it's the most beautiful region in the central belt! Welcome!
