Secondary school advice

Hello there! We are planning to relocate from Surrey to Scotland and are currently trying to figure out secondary school options. We have a 12 (boy) 10 (girl) and 8 (boy) year old and are looking at Perthshire / Fife - considering St Leonard’s, Morrison, Dollar - would really appreciate any advice / feedback on these three schools to help with decision making? School will probably drive where we live so just trying to work out the best decision? We have also looked at strathallan but I think it’s probably not going to fit our budget with three kids. Thanks in advance for any help / advice!

I know a couple of kids at St Leonard’s. Think they like it well enough. A lot leave at s5 though and do highers at Madras (local high school) as they don’t want to do the baccalaureate

Stay away from st Leonard’s pretty toxic culture

I have heard lovely things about Dollar. Seems like a good mix of families too and an an absolutely gorgeous setting!

I know kids at them all, all seem happy. I suggest you vist them all as they have very different feels. Ours are at Dollar and they love it. It's a decent size school so I think better insulated from the VAT changes, plus because it is bigger it offers a huge range of subjects, one of the largest in Scotland. Our experience is also that it is a very happy place to be, with very good academics and offering excellent co-curricular choice.

They also 'top up' the Scottish curriculum at Nat 5 (which in our experience is quite poor now) with GCSE & Higher topics in maths which stretches the brighter ones.

We love it!
