Dyslexic DD/disabled student allowance

DD has a conditional offer from Napier. She really struggles with dyslexia. I’m aware that she can apply for disabled student allowance. From what I can see, she needs to submit a needs assessment form, which would (I think) be completed by someone at the uni.

My question: can we contact Napier’s disability support now, or do we have to wait until she’s started in September?

I'd wait until she actually starts
My dd got 25% extra time, a lap top and printer and software that would read texts for her.

I would start now. My DD goes to UoG and she was contacted by the disability team around now (before she even firmed her offers) and got the ball rolling. However, DD is totally scatty and didn't do what she was supposed to so didn't get the funding in time for the beginning of term and had to get a laptop on loan which is just an extra hassle.

I would start the ball rolling now, they will be up to their eyes at the beginning of the academic year so if you can get ahead of the rush it may speed things up.

No don’t wait, you should contact the Uni now so they can get the DSA rolling.
