Late 50s, adult children, had been planning to move to Stirling but have seen a couple of houses in Tillicoultry that seem nice. Can I get your views?

Some lovely bits, but also significant issues in centre of town with antisocial behaviour at the moment, especially near the bus station. I would be happy to consider buying there but carefully. Feel free to send me links to houses you are interested in and I will try to advise! I have lived very close by for several years (no intention of moving so I won’t steal your house, promise!)

The outlet centre and Sterling furniture are good for a wander. Penny Licks is excellent.

If transport links a priority the Stirling is a no brainer though.

My friend lives in Tillicoultry she's lived there for years, she says its gone downhill and is rough in some areas, I saw on FB that the buses were avoiding a bus stop because of anti social behaviour.

I would definitely choose Stirling.

Is it just me showing my age here or does anyone else struggle to get the 90’s furniture adverts out of their head when they hear anyone mention Tillicoultry?

Tilly is a fair bit away from Stirling, we live in Stirling and visit the outlets etc but not sure I’d want to live there. Blair logie is nice or bridge of Allan but I prefer living central and travelling out to visit places.

Damn you! I spent ages trying to put that out of my head and now you’ve put it right back in there 🤣

Thanks everyone. Transport links was one of the main reasons for looking at Stirling so you’ve confirmed my reservations about looking elsewhere. And the antisocial behaviour issues have decided it for me: Stirling it is! 😊

Tillicoultry near Stirling!

HA! Did Dougie Donnely do the Sterling advert ? I remember going with late Mill she was buying new suite it cost an absolute fortune !

I concur, they stopped the buses running after 5pm this week cos of young ruffians chucking things at the buses, although this is a recent development. There are some nice streets in Tilly with views and access to nice walks but some rough areas and not much money to sort it out. The bus links in general aren't as good as they used to be, I'd choose Stirling, the train station is a godsend, although Stirling town centre has it's moments on weekend evenings!

Yes stirling has it moments and there is rough areas.
