Can't post GIFs but this is what I wanted to post here:

She will not be missed.

Aye she will.

SirChenjins · 13/03/2025 12:25

Best news in a long time. So long, don't let the door hit you on the way out, and thanks for FA.

9fthighfence · 13/03/2025 13:53

i just cringe when I watch any of the television coverage of the Scottish Parliament. How can we be ruled by people that are so lacking in basic intelligence. The Greens clearly have got pretty bad mental health issues, but watching the single sex spaces debate yesterday, only the Tories had grasped the basis of the debate which was that transwomen were as much of a danger to women as any other man. The SNP and Lib Dem’s just didn’t seem to understand this point at all.

And don’t get me started on their inability to comprehend that you cannot change sex. You can’t. It’s a fact that all adults know, even if they pretend otherwise.

And no one was able to listen to the Tories and think maybe - just maybe - they were right and the other parties were indeed shitting all over women’s rights. No one is listening carefully and thinking.

Nicola Sturgeon embodies all of this nonsense. Every last bit.

thinktwice36 · 13/03/2025 13:55

She achieved the square root of fuck all, leaving with a police investigation hanging over her is wholly appropriate.

I complete agree. And the fact labour just sat back and didn’t vote on the single spaces issue. The is is outrageous yet no one other than the tories seem at all interested in standing up for what is right

Is this the first and only thread about this story? If so it says a lot about how people feel about NS these days

glasgowstations · 14/03/2025 05:26

i had mixed feelings when I saw this…delighted that she is finally going, but also more than a bit furious that she is gracefully bowing out through her own choice. She should have been removed from office.

Funny I came straight here when I saw the story hit to discuss and I didn’t see a thread. I did think about starting one but hadn’t seen much political chat here lately. I think we are all a bit scunnerred with it all. I do resolve though to do better…I remember not that long ago that there would have been threads running for months on all the SNP shenanigans. Well done @GargoylesofBeelzebub for getting us back on track!

MsBette · 14/03/2025 06:12

Good riddance Nicola. You did nothing valuable for us. Don’t get me started on her successors, who are even more ineffective. Swinney? What is he for? Yes obviously they don’t have anyone better but this flimsy man would be as well not turning up.

It's quite telling isn't it? How far she has fallen.

Even independence supporters have turned their backs on her. Either because of her obsession with gender shite or her lack of progress.

Good riddance.

A hideously divisive woman who handled the Covid shitshow absolutely appallingly and gave not one single fuck about children and teens which simultaneously carrying on her own life exactly as normal.

Loathe and detest her. Hope she gets a new job a long, long way from Scotland so we are never subjected to her again.

People on this board tend to be more anti SNP and independence than mainstream opinions I wouldn't take it as representative of the population as a whole.

I would. The majority of us here in Scotland didn’t vote for independence and didn’t vote SNP at the last election.

Kibble29 · 18/03/2025 19:33

Get her so far to fuck.

I voted for her party in the past, voted Yes, but never again. Sleekit bastards the lot of them.

She can fanny about in the gym til her heart’s content now.

I preface this by saying I can't stand Boris Johnson and the Tory Westminster government did a terrible job re Covid. Don't get me started on partygate. I'm not Scottish and live in London. But it cheesed me off so much that everywhere kept going on about Scotland management of Covid and Nicola Sturgeon was looked to as the apex of leadership of leadership at the time. Likewise Jacindra Ardern. When I feel the outcomes for most countries were very similar as far as I can see.

snoopyfanaccountant · 18/03/2025 22:14

In the mid-90s I worked in Govan constituency and DH would often get the underground to Ibrox so that we could drive home together. I remember Nicola Sturgeon campaigning around Ibrox Underground and she was a girning wee lassie.

45% voted for independence, and the SNP is still the largest group in the SP, so there are a significant number of indie voters.

SnoozingFox · 19/03/2025 08:21

45% voted for independence

Stating the bleeding obvious here, but that was ELEVEN YEARS AGO. A lot has happened since then.

RedRosesPinkLilies · 19/03/2025 08:54

@SirChenjins Problem is the rest of us are split between the other parties. If it was a two horse race, SNP would be out.

Which means 55% voted against independence.

She’s going from being a salary thief to a pension thief

Yep - and as before, the majority didn’t and don’t vote them, just as the majority of us on here don’t support them (for obvious reasons).

Kibble29 · 19/03/2025 13:04

There she’s got her memoir out.

Comments on insta are full of people falling over themselves to kiss her arse. Boggin.

SnoozingFox · 19/03/2025 16:02

So she’s been fannying around writing her autobiography when she is still employed to represent her constituents? Nice.

tobee · 20/03/2025 14:24

And she's not facing charges. Murrell charged with embezzlement. Hmmm...
