Estate agent recommendations in Edinburgh

Looking for recommendations for good and efficient estate agents. I have seen two or three and not particularly impressed with any of them. If you have sold recently, or even bought, please tell me your experiences.

I bought recently and the agent was DJ Alexander. Once the sale was agreed they were fine but in the early stages it was frustrating dealing with them. They were doing the viewings for the owner but had extremely limited availability for actually carrying them out. This wouldn’t be an issue if you did viewings yourself though

I’m thinking Neilsons or Simpson and Marwick.

My mum used DMD Law and the one she bought was Neilsons. It all went pretty smoothly.

I had two dreadful transactions with warners so avoid them.

I used Mov8 to sell a flat and they were great.

VMH or Neilsons.

Bought and sold with Gilson Gray last year and don’t recommend - slow, inefficient and did very little to help us sell, made mistakes with viewings etc.

Previously used VMH and they were great (should have used them this time too!)

I was very impressed with Coulters when booking in viewings, very prompt at coming back and pro-actively contacting us about suitable properties, made me think I’d have trusted them to do a good job at marketing our’s.
