Scottish courts system advice

An elderly relative in Scotland has a young friend who has a court case coming up. I am worried they are being naive about what this "friend" has done (some wider concerns about the "friend").

Is it possible to find out about charges etc for court cases and where would I look? I assume you can't find out what's being discussed in the case unless you're in the court?

Hi OP, this should help.

www.scotcourts.gov.uk/courts-and-tribunals/the-supreme-courts/the-high-court-of-justiciary/criminal-proceedings-transcripts/#:~:text=Scotland)%20Order%201993.-,Criminal%20Procedure%20(Scotland)%20Act%201995,the%20public%20can%20freely%20attend.

That website should also allow you to check court rolls in advance to see what charges they are due to appear for. Assuming you know roughly when they're due in court.

court rolls absolutely do not share details of alleged offences.

I think you unlikely to be privvy do those details...presumed innocence might prevail.
What you could possibly do is (-provide you know name..)call friends local police station-who wont breach confedentiality either...but will have access to charges info- maybe tell them your a bit concerned . probably if elderly be a vulnerable person so IF dodgy /mislead/lies...the duty of care re elderly friend/sfegurd mibee
