Looking for a cleaner in Edinburgh

We tried going through an agency to get a cleaner and it has been hopeless.

I wondered what other people had found was the best way for getting a cleaner in Edinburgh? Is there a more reliable agency or would you recommend dealing with someone directly?

I think asking friends, neighbours abs colleagues for a recommendation works well. I used Bark once, managed to find someone a few years back.
