Visitors from nyc, adults and 17 yr old - has anyone a restaurant in Edinburgh that’s Scottish and fun and posh ish but not ££££?
I don’t get out much! Thank you

I've not been but the reviews are fab and it sounds like it might fit the bill, Makars mash bar?

Oh thank you - had actually just found it on one of those Pinterest visit Edinburgh things, it does look good, it’s a good idea for a restaurant. Thankyou.

Do you have a preference for location? Blonde in Newington is fab.

I don’t know about fun but they probably don’t come more Scottish and “quaint” (and Americans usually love that sort of stuff) than the sheep’s heid inn.

The sheep's heid has a wooden bowling alley. It is fun. Food's good too. Then a walk round Arthur's seat. Perfect.

Great! Thank you I hadn’t heard of either ( unsurprisingly!) they both look great.
and I’d forgotten about the sheep’s Heid it is nice to- and they do very nice crab tart I seem to recall. Yum!
happy Xmas!
