What to do near Murrayfield?

Last minute change of plans means I need to take ds to Murrayfield tomorrow to meet his friend and dad for the rugby match. Then I need to collect him at the end.

What can I do for the 2-3 hours I'm hanging around? Are there any nice areas with little independent shops or anything? A friendly cafe?

I know I could quite quickly get into Princes Street but I'd like to wander around somewhere new.

Can anyone suggest which direction I should head in to find somewhere interesting?

Thank you.

The modern art galleries on Belford Road are a short walk away (Modern one has a nice cafe) and Dean Village is close by too.

The zoo for a walk? Retail park at Craigleith or the Gyle.

Weather is nice, so I'd head into Princes Street.

I'm in the art gallery. I hadn't realised it was quite so close. My Edinburgh geography is terrible
