Go onto the Highland Council website and search "How to make a complaint". There's an online form

You're expected to have spoken to the Head first though

You best to follow the process so complain to the head teacher first (always best done in writing) then escalate to the next stage. Depending on which area of Inverness you are will depend who the area education lead is. Do you know is it south, west Inverness?

The Head of Education will just pass it on as per the complaints process so you need to speak to the Head first.

You could also write to one of your MSPs

Mozartine · 10/11/2024 17:22

MSPs are much more effective. Dept of Education will just back up the head teachers. The next stage is complaint to the public services ombudsman and from start to finish it just drags things out for months. MSP much more effective!

Hey did you get anywhere with complaining? I am just curious as I know someone who has recently had to do the same.

Hello, I know this thread is old but I am also looking into complaining in HC area and wondered how you got on.

Who you would complain to would depend on what routes you have already taken. Have you put in a formal complaint to the head teacher in writing and called it formal complaint? If you have done this your next option is to put in a formal complaint through the online highland council attaching all evidence etc. Each area has an education officer who overseas certain schools. Is it an Inverness school your having issues with?
