Glasgow restaurants? (Suitable for vegans)

Anyone got recommendations for a restaurant that would be suitable for a biggish group (about 12) and isn't vegan but suitable for vegans?

Either Finnieston or city centre (preferably between Queen St and Central stations to help with travel). Any suggestions?? Needs to be decent but preferably not too expensive. The stress of making suggestions for work colleagues!

https://www.chillieswestend.com/

Would this place be an option? (Chillies - on Woodlands Road so not Finnieston, but reachable).

Mono behind the St Enoch centre.

Their fake fish and chips is lovely

The Red Onion , West Campbell Street is usually good for vegans .
The Ivy is good too but more expensive.

Vegan Suisse is supposed to be amazing

Check if GaGa has options too

CrabSignalArmy · 02/11/2024 10:10

ubiquitouschip.co.uk is wonderful and can always do a vegan option (although the vegans won't have a lot of choice)

Another vote for Red Onion, really good food for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans, which is rare to find.

In the city centre

Sugo (except you can't book which is tedious)
Chaakoo
Mowgli

FennelFan · 02/11/2024 18:42

Sugo is great but definitely not for a group of 12 since you always have to wait.

Chakoo is good because caters well for vegans or non-vegans. They are in town or west end.

OliviaRodrighost · 02/11/2024 18:43

Chaakoo is delicious!

DogsAndKidsAndSport · 02/11/2024 22:27

Another vote for Sylvan

India Quay at Finnieston is lovely.

MeowCatPleaseMeowBack · 02/11/2024 23:01

Mowgli has a separate vegan menu but with a group of 12 you've probably got at least one who will moan that they don't like food from the entire country of India.

thanks all - sorry for disappearing!

I'm not a fan of Mowgli - find it really noisy and dark and as a fan of massive naan breads find their bread disappointing 😂

will def pass on Chaakoo given the love for it, and Red Onion looks like a good option too. unfortunately I think the Woodlands/Hillhead options are just too awkward in terms of walking/public transport. and while it needs to be suitable for vegans, given that the vast majority of folk aren't vegan i think it probably needs to have carnivore options...
