Can anyone recommend one please? They all present very well when you go and visit, but I obvwould rather know about the actual day to day.

My dad was at Crookston in Tranent. It is a fairly new, purpose-built facility, with lots of activities.

oh thank you! Did he / you like it?
We have actually booked that one and Muirfield to look at this week, just to get a baseline and to get started. There’s just a lot to trawl through- and a big difference in prices!

Thank you so much, that’s really good to know.
last home I found ( down south) we asked the carers, who knew loads, and were right to warn me about a home- a very creepy manager and nurse ratchett turned up. They turned on the smiles, but eeww! I don’t know anyone in East Lothian who works in the care business, so really appreciate your help, thank you.

Check out the Care Inspectorate website for care home gradings. There's a lot of choice in the East and Midlothian area. Ask about staffing and activities.

A family member was in Muirfield and the family was delighted with it.

Thanks, now realise it’s a nursing home we need. Been to see muirfield and it looks really nice ac, like a v posh hotel.
she’s not got dementia, but can’t move so prefer one that’s separated out ideally.
thank you!
