Nat 5 Study Guides and Past Papers

Hi, mum to an S4 DC and first child to hit the exam year!
I've been looking at study guides and past papers for the subjects he's taking and not sure which brand to go for. I've also seen resources on the SQA website and BBC bitesize but unsure if these would be enough (along with the resources provided by the teachers themselves) to provide enough practice and support studying?
Do any parents who have children who have completed their Nat 5 exams, have any advice or opinions?
He is relatively motivated and doesn't struggle with understanding of the topics/subject content too difficult so this would really be for revision and exam prep.
To add, in case it makes a difference, subjects are maths, English, history, computing science, physics, and engineering science.

For maths and physics the website ‘jabchem’ has N5 papers and marking schemes going back years (SQA just has last couple of years).

I went to Waterstones and bought the study guides. Bright Red and something else.

They covered everything needed. DD checked past papers to get an idea of what would come up.

The guides were great for question format and how to get points. Esp history. DD did have a maths tutor but everything else she used the guides and got 5 As, one B and one C.

Considering she was practically self taught with high teacher absence rate and awful discipline, these guides did the trick.

I bought various different guides for ds3. Most of them were never even opened. He said everything in them was available online. I’m not sure how he knew that as he didn’t look at the guides. He got 7A’s and a B.

I bought Leckie's guides for DS1 but he did say that all the information was available online.

Another that bought a range of guides from bright red, leckie, teejay and how to pass.

The only one that was really used was the BrightRed NAT5 Course book (not the study guide) which really helped him with his English RUAE__

That jabchem site looks great. Never heard of before. And the worked solutions on YouTube look great.
