Hi just wondering what your favourite Borders town is are there any Mumsnet peoples up here, no doubt they’re are
moved from the south of England to Selkirk sometime ago now, life is much less stressful for sure, The Borders hospital is fantastic no waiting months/years for appointments, on average a few weeks!! People are far friendlier, property so much cheaper, Stunning countryside either end of the High Street
fabulous History, not a chain store town! Nearby Galashiels 12 Minutes up the road for all the big stores which is great
lovely train Station Street, Edinburgh 55 minutes is only 15 minutes away
do say hi, i’ve not been on here for years
Look forward to chatting

Hi! East Berwickshire here. Don’t know Selkirk. Borders as I know it is a a pretty insular place. It’s nice being near the coast. Nicest places near me are Reston, Ayton, Coldingham, Cove, Cockburnspath. Car is a must. Avoid Eyemouth and Chirnside in my opinion.

Maybe insular is the wrong word. People are friendly enough but over half the folk on our little road of about ten houses are related.

I often holiday in Coldingham. Love it there. There's something that just draws me back even though it's an hour from me. I'd love to move. But DH says no.
