Is there a P1 starters support thread yet?

I have been very chill for the past six months but starting to get a bit nervous now as despite a fair amount of discussion and prep, I am not sure DS has quite understood that he’ll be going every day 😅

I’m off work this week to make it easier to get used to a new routine, and his dad is off next week.

He finished up at nursery in mid July so has had quite a lot of down time.

He’s not keen on the polo shirts they wear either. Might be sending him in the jumper despite the heat!

Good luck for the first day, I hope he enjoys it and is happy to go back!

If the polo shirts have an embroidered logo it might be a bit scratchy on the back, either wear a vest or see if you can soften it/peel some of the backing off?

A vest is a good idea; am resorting to bribery at the moment. They’re quite relaxed about uniform and it’s mix and match so they all look a bit ramshackle on any given day anyway. I’m just a bit confused as he’s worn it several times to get used to it but is now resisting!

The lunch offer seems reasonable but he won’t commit to anything at the moment so I do hope he eats something at the time…

@IceStationZebra did he start today? My little one has just gone in for her first day of P1. She seemed ok but I still feel like a nervous wreck!

@Dawndarkness yes, today was the first day. Seemed to go quite well but I was more nervous than I thought I’d be!

@IceStationZebra aw that’s great. I was exactly the same like a cat on a hot tin roof until pick up and knew the day had gone well. @Peachtastic not long to go. It feels better with the first day done… phew
