Anyone else dreading the upcoming refuse strikes?

I don’t even have a large family but I’m panicking slightly at the state the garden is going to look

I hope they can reach a resolution

I'm more worried about the centre of Edinburgh. It was horrendous the last time there was a strike.

I rarely have more than one bag of landfill a fortnight as we recycle a lot and we are fortunate in having a garden so compost a lot of the food waste.
Just stopped drinking too so fewer bottles 😩

Think we will miss 1 bin collection but goodness knows what the street bins will be like. NL is saying we can put the missed bin out from the 22nd and they will collect it when they can

I'm glad our general waste was yesterday so we'll only miss glass/plastic and papers which we never fill so should hopefully be ok for when the strike is over.

I believe more money has been offered by the Scottish government to councils to help settle the strike

Who knows what the unions will say about the offer. Currently works out for me at 56p an hour.

Or they may do what they did to school staff last year, accepted the deal but let them strike. 🤬
